The Riverwood Community Garden is a space for neighbors to grow more than just vegetables, it’s a place to grow together. Tucked between Riverwood Church and Farmstead Park on Clinton River Road, our garden is rooted in community and connection. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting your hands dirty for the first time, there’s a plot here for you.
Each raised bed is available for the season and comes with access to water, a supportive community, and plenty of sunshine. You’ll find this space peaceful, welcoming, and alive with the energy of shared purpose.
The garden is hosted by Riverwood Church, but it’s open to anyone in the community. We simply believe that growing food, sharing space, and spending time outdoors can help build stronger neighborhoods.

Plots: Garden beds are raised and roughly 4'x8' in size. Each plot is assigned for the growing season (spring through early fall). Returning gardeners are given early access to reserve a plot each year, with remaining spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Watering: Rain barrels are the primary source of water for the garden. As they empty, volunteers from Riverwood refill them using outdoor spigots on the church building. You're welcome to bring your own watering can or hose attachment to use with the barrels. During hot or dry periods, we encourage gardeners to help keep each other’s plots watered when needed.
Maintenance: You’re responsible for maintaining your garden bed throughout the season. That means planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and cleaning up at the end of the year. If you’re going out of town, we encourage you to team up with a friend or another gardener.
Cost: There is no cost to participate. Donations to help cover materials and improvements are always appreciated but never required.
Community: The garden is a shared space, hosted by Riverwood Church and supported by volunteers. It’s designed to be welcoming to all, regardless of background. We ask everyone to treat the space and each other with care and respect.
